Our Story

Built From Comunidad

FORA Community grew from years of people coming together to help one another.

Our community work began in 2018 with grassroots fundraising efforts supporting local needs in Agua Caliente and Camichines, Jalisco, Mexico. What started with individual projects—from helping purchase equipment for a community soccer field to supporting families with funeral expenses—continued to grow as more needs emerged and more people came together to help.

That same year, Alas al Cielo began supporting families in Agua Caliente with funeral expenses. In 2020, Becas Pa' Delante was created to support college students from rural communities while encouraging them to give back through community service.

Over the years, our efforts have expanded to include medical expenses and surgeries, emergency assistance, community infrastructure and improvement projects, cultural and traditional celebrations, sports, and other community needs. Our supporters have also helped make larger projects possible, including fundraising efforts for two ambulances serving communities in the region.

In 2026, these years of community work came together under FORA Community, creating a nonprofit organization that can continue this work, build new partnerships, and reach more comunidades.

Today, Becas Pa' Delante and Alas al Cielo are FORA's two primary programs, alongside fundraising campaigns created in response to specific community needs.

What began with one need at a time has become a commitment to move comunidades forward—together.

Why FORA?

What's Behind the Name

FORA is inspired by the Greek word φορά (forá), associated with movement, momentum, and forward motion. It also carries another meaning central to our identity: FOR A...

For a Person. For a Family. For a Student. For a Project. For a Cause. For a Future.

And behind the name is something personal: FORA also represents the initials of our family.

This combination reflects what FORA has always been about—family, comunidad, and people coming together to move something forward.

Forward

We move forward together.

We believe progress is shared. When a student, family, project, or comunidad moves forward, we all move forward.

FOR A Reason.

FORA isn't built around one cause.

FOR A student pursuing an education.
FOR A family facing a difficult moment.
FOR A project that strengthens a town.
FOR A tradition that keeps people connected.
FOR A cause that brings a comunidad together.

Whatever the reason, we're FOR A comunidad moving forward.
